ITG xpPhone: MID and mobile phone with WVGA touchscreen, QWERTY & 3G

It became known that the forthcoming exhibition at Computex, which starts as early as next week, the Chinese company ITG presents a mobile device called xpPhone. It probably can be classified as MID, but with the phone functionality. The device is equipped with a 4.8-inch touch screen with WVGA resolution and sliding full QWERTY keyboard, which separate the numeric pad to dial a phone number, D-pad, trackpad, and mouse button. The ITG xpPhone is based on AMD mobile processor and running Windows XP. As a drive, you can install a 64 GB SSD or 120 GB hard drive, also has a build-in GPS receiver.

Interestingly, except for standard modules of wireless Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with ITG xpPhone supports networks GSM / WCDMA, EV-DO, WiMAX, TD-SCDMA or TD-HSDPA. Specifically, they are likely to be installed in various combinations at the request of the manufacturer, which it will build on ITG xpPhone for the production of its commercial products. The demonstration of this interesting device will be held at Computex in the coming few days.

Windows 7 and Thinkpads – Wireless on and off switch with Intel My WiFi

There have been cases where the wireless chipset on Thinkpads have been disabled even though the hardware switch for wireless had been switched on. Before v12.4 of Intel’s wireless drivers, there really wasn’t a consistent way to re-enable the wireless radio inside the operating system. If you only install the updated drivers for the Intel wireless chipset, you won’t get the ‘On/Off’ functionality.
